The chest format (top opening) has advantages that a cabinet does not. As cold air is denser, it stays in the chest when you open it: the cold loss is far lower than that of a cabinet, hence a better energy efficiency and a better autonomy in the event of a power cut. It is the king format for long-term storage of frozen products, with a small footprint in height.
